Juliane Sempionatto
Dr. Juliane Sempionatto is an assistant professor in the ECE department at Rice University, holding the James J. Truchard endowed chair position. She has expertise in developing biosensors to monitor biomarkers in biofluids such as sweat, saliva, tears, interstitial fluid, blood, etc. Her research interests include:
-
Development of wearable electrochemical biosensors for the continuous and non-invasive monitoring of analytes;
-
Wearable energy harvester devices;
-
New electrode materials and fabrication;
-
Flexible, stretchable, and conformal substrates for epidermal biosensors;
-
Wearable microfluidic platforms with actuators for flow control, mixing, delivery, and storage of biofluids;
-
Machine learning
Dr. Sempionatto has a great interest in outreach and educational programs.
